How are you? How are you doing? I don’t know how you view blog posts, but for me, this is how I encourage, impart, and help you walk firm and strong in a life with Christ.
I often wake up and think of you first. I know no one is really sitting around waiting to receive an email from me, but my prayer is that whatever God puts on my heart, that it will land in your inbox at the right moment — a word in due season for you.
I was thinking about John 15 today, where Jesus talked about being the vine. He said, “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5). I read a quote one time by E.W. Kenyon that I have never forgotten. He said, “No branch is any closer to the Vine than another branch.”
In other words, as I sit here and think about you and how I can best encourage and impart faith to you, I am reminded that YOU are as close to the Vine as I am, and visa-versa. Each of us has access to the same Vine –including the fullness of what the Vine offers! But if you’ve ever studied a root system, you’ve noticed that there are feeder branches off of main branches. I think this is a good picture of how we are as the Body of Christ.
There are people and ministries that feed me. And I in turn, share of that wealth and pass it on to you. And YOU, as a branch and one connected to the Vine as well, also give out to those in your life. It is the design of God.
So, I’ll ask again: How are you? How are you doing? I really want to know.
I hope the things I share, both through these posts and my podcast, are a great encouragement to your walk with God. My prayer is that you are strong in Him and in the power of His might. I pray you abide in peace that passes all understanding and that no weapon formed against you would prosper. My hope is that you know how deeply you are loved and that no matter what you are facing, God is WITH you and FOR you. I pray you hunger and thirst for God’s Word like living water and that it quenches and fills every part of your being.
This isn’t a typical blog post, but I wanted you to know my heart towards you. Every word I type or truth I share is with YOU in mind. Thank you for allowing me access into your life. Our God is faithful!
Stay encouraged! You cannot be defeated, so don’t quit! The Greater One abides within you.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church (in us) by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21).
