Guilty by Association

The power of influence. We’ve all been told to choose our relationships carefully, but is it possible our associations define our identity?

In this week’s episode, Daphne and Angie are joined by their very special friend, Michel Powers, who greatly influenced and impacted both of their lives in a positive way. As she shares her story of discovering her identity in Christ, you’ll learn:

  • Why your daily choices are so important

  1. Just what I needed to hear! I have always heard once you become a Christian & start living for Him, you will most likely lose “friends” That to me was a hard pill to swallow, because the friends I associated with WERE my identity! I often times got my feelings hurt because I wasn’t invited places they were going because I didn’t walk the life they walked anymore! But like Mrs. Michel said associate yourself with people who live the life you do/want to & I’m so glad I have surrounded my self with Godly women who pick me up, give me spiritual encouragement when I’m down & we always have good, strong, righteous fellowship! They not only encourage me, but also speak the truth even when I don’t want to hear it!

    • Thanks for the feedback Cassi!! Until we become familiar and comfortable with our own identity we can never identify with others, instead we begin to blend or conform with our surroundings. Establishing a strong foundation is key to standing our grounds. Our past will always remain our ministry.. But should never become our weaknesses. Love ya..

      • I love that “our past will always remain our ministry.. But should never become our weakness!” Thanks!! Love you sweet lady!

    • Thanks for sharing Cassi! I love how you described your journey of finding new “associations” —and how worth it it was! I hope others read your post and are encouraged to not give up!

  2. All three of you!! Anointed and appointed for such a time as this!! I love that we will always have people around us that are spiritually more experienced and also people that aren’t as experienced as you! You have a opportunity for a healthy balance of sharpening yourself on more experienced people and are also tested in your boldness and courage to be the more experienced one that others can sharpen themselves through you! So encouraging! Love to hear from you ladies!!

    • M’Layna, you’re so sweet! We had so much fun doing this podcast together! We have been sharpened by each other and I’m so grateful 🙂 God has set you up to do the same for others!

      • I always enjoy hearing you guys share your hearts and I’m so very blessed to be sharpened by such God-fearing women! A servants heart will be full of love and a consistent desire to grow!! I love to see that in women who have been serving the Lord many years more than I have its so encouraging to see where I can be someday as I grow!
