Are You a Fan or a Follower? Podcast Episode 030

Last week, Daphne and Angie unknowingly both went to different NBA games on their spring break trips. That stirred an interesting conversation about the differences between being a fan or a follower.

So in this week’s episode, they discuss the dreaded fruit of the Spirit called “self-control” and it’s biblical meaning of “allowing the real you to call the shots.” In other words, one difference between being a fan or a follower is your commitment to “Christ in you.”

When dealing with emotions (which are often hard to ignore when you’re a fan of something), it’s good to note that every emotion has a voice. And that voice is important! It either makes you or breaks you. It either builds up your identity in Christ or it diminishes who you truly are.

  • Great show! I anticipate the day when committed followers of Jesus will worship and praise Him with the same reckless abandon, and undaunted courage, that is displayed weekly where the same people cheer their favorite player or team. “In that day” we will all come to the same conclusion that there is really only one favorite – Jesus – and one team – committed and true followers of HIM!

    • Thanks Stephen! I love how you worded your comment! There is ONLY ONE FAVORITE! Jesus will always be my favorite 🙂 God bless you my friend!
