Got Uncontrolled Flesh? Podcast Episode 057

Daphne Delay Podcast 3 Comments

The Bible defines our “flesh” as the part of us that is weak, imperfect, prone to sin, and the seat of all sinful passions and desires. We could say it’s the part of us that does the opposite of what our spirit wants–which is why the flesh and the spirit fight each other.

In this week’s podcast, Daphne and Angie talk about uncontrolled flesh, but not in the dramatic way you may be thinking. Obviously, a temper tantrum would be “uncontrolled flesh” but so is any form of disobedience. Remember this equation:

undeveloped spirit + unrenewed mind = uncontrolled flesh

In this episode, Daphne and Angie share personal stories about what happened after recording the previous week’s podcast about resting in God. The thing to remember is that uncontrolled flesh, even in the tiniest form, is the reason for many spiritual failures or missed opportunities.

  • Hi Angie and Daphne! Your last two programs have been a great reminder to me of something Chip Brogden says, “Don’t let the work of the Lord displace the Lord of the work!” Sometimes we are so busy feeding everyone else that we forget to eat and begin to starve! I listen every week. Ya’ll are doing a great job.

    • It’s so good to hear from you Stephen! (and glad to know you still tune in!) Thanks for that great quote. It’s so true! We can only give out what we are careful to put in 🙂

      • Yes, so true. I found the actual quote by Chip Brogden: “The Work of the Lord must never become more important than the Lord of the Work.”
