You’ve heard the phrase. You may have even said it before. And maybe one of you really brave souls will admit to having a t-shirt in your closet that says, “Eat! Drink! And Be Merry!” But did you know the Bible originated the phrase as sarcasm in reference to living for yourself?
In this episode of Identity Advantage, Daphne and Angie talk about a different use for this phrase. What if it described partaking of God’s Word, drinking of His Spirit, resulting in a life that had “joy unspeakable and full of glory” (1 Peter 1:8)? Jeremiah said, “Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart” (Jeremiah 15:16).
