Again

What a blasted word.

Or a blessed one.

Again. To repeat. To mimic a former behavior, instance, or circumstance.

Paul said, “In [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off]” (Galatians 5:1).

We have a choice. Return again to our former ways, or allow God to do something new… again and again and again.

There’s an old song we used to sing at bible school called “He’ll Do It Again.” The lyrics go like this:

You may be down and feel like God has somehow forgotten
That you are faced with circumstances you can’t get through
But now it seems that there’s no way out and you’re going under
God’s proven time and time again
He’ll take care of you

[chorus] And He’ll do it again
He’ll do it again
If you’ll just take a look at where you are now and where you have been
Well hasn’t He always come through for you?
He’s the same now as then
You may not know how
You may not know when
But He’ll do it again!

So I just want to remind you that if you’re frustrated with a repeated behavior or circumstance, don’t keep your eyes on it. Instead put your focus on the One who will again and again show you grace, love, favor, forgiveness, and promise!

He’ll do it again!
