You Can Do This

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord” (1 Corinthians 15:57-58).

Can we stress this part again: “…knowing that our labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

Do you know that?

Do you know that as we are faithful to do our part, God is faithful to do His?

I want to encourage you today to simply remain faithful because your labor is not in vain. It is not without significance, value, or importance to someone. I think sometimes we get our eyes on the BIG picture and forget that it takes many ingredients to make a cake. In other words, it’s our faithful attention to the small things, as well as the big things, that bring success.

You just need some motivation.

Here’s one (of many) scriptures that motivates me to do what I do everyday: “Awake to righteousness, and do not sin; for some do not have the knowledge of God. I speak this to your shame” (1 Corinthians 15:34).

Some do not have the knowledge of God? (Is it okay to say duh?) But seriously, how sad is that? And God’s Word equates this with righteousness.

Wake up people!

Or I should say, wake up Daphne! Or better yet, (fill in the blank) with your name. What are you supposed to be putting your hand to?

Are you doing it?

God calls us stewards. This means we have been put in charge of something. And then He says, “Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2). Notice it didn’t say it’s optional if we want to be found faithful.

You and I are like the ingredients in the cake. You are one part. I am another. Without each other, the world can’t taste the goodness of God. So, there’s no excuse for me not to do my part. I must! And so must you.

Big or Small

So don’t concern yourself with the size of the task. God’s grace is sufficient. And remember, He is the Master Designer of YOU, including all things He’s put in your hand to do.

You can do this.
